Military forage cap. The hat has a flat navy top, a black visor, and white sides. It also has a peaked cap, and no hat badge. A leather band over the visor is held on by two brass buttons.
The hat was owned by Lt. Col. William Van Allen of the 16/22nd Saskatchewan Horse, and 14th Canadian Light Horse / Hussars.
