Projectile Point (1000 bp)
Artefact
2007.16.41
1000 bp
Brown or tan projectile point, likely made of chert. The point as a slightly convex base, side notches, and unevenly chipped edges that curve outwards up to the tip.
The point's shape makes it difficult to identify exactly what type of point it is as it bears resemblance to points of both atlatl darts and arrowheads. It seems possible that it is a Besant atlatl dart point from 2,100 to 1,500 years before present (BP), or it could also be a Prairie Side-Notched arrow point from 1,200 to 550 years before present (BP).~root~>
