Description The Orpheus Club fonds pertains to the Orpheus Club which operated in Swift Current, SK from 1915 to 1997. The main function of this club was simply for women to gather and discuss music or play music. Over the years the club gave our scholarships and grants to local students for music related success, and performed musical concerts at various events and occasions. The fonds include programs from concerts, newspaper clippings about the Orpheus Club, scrapbooks pertaining to discussions and famous musicians. As well as correspondence including numerous thank you cards from grant recipients and letters between members of the club. The fonds have been arranged by original order where possible, but has largely been reorganized by former staff members of the museum into series pertaining to function.
