Description A photo of the opening day of the new Modern News location in downtown Swift Current, 1952. The old location was in the zero block of Central Avenue on the west side, with the new location being on the 100 block of Central Avenue on the east side. Customers are looking at various goods, a barbershop is in the back, and a saleswoman using the cash register. Modern News was owned by William Chew.
