German Stahlhelm style, introduced in WWI when the traditional leather Pickelhaube was insufficient, this instance dated to WWII, rounded crown, downward angled brim around the back, peak on the front, a 1 cm tube attached to either side of the helmet was likely used for an attachment that has since been removed, no padding inside. Manufactured by Eisenhüttenwerk AG, Thale Hartzuttenwerk AG, Thale Harz, pre-1943. Size 64, lot number W227.
