Fenton's Grove

Archival item

1994.18.1
An unused postcard with an image of Fenton's Grove in Swift Current, likely a photograph that was hand coloured. The photo features a winding trail, a creek on the right side with trees on the left, and a family in the foreground. The land was owned by a man named Fenton, who was required by the City to plant trees on his property for the citizen's to enjoy. The area was a grove by 1893 and was the only treed area in Swift Current at the time. The land was flooded for the City dam in 1913.
