Photographic print, looking north up Centre Street from approximately 3rd Avenue. Shows buildings on the 300 block, east and west side. There is a building in the centre of the photo that appears to be temporarily placed in the street as it is east of the sidewalk. This photo was likely taken shortly after the Kennedy Hotel fire in June 1918 and this building was temporarily placed here. It has a sign that says 'Meals' but the rest is illegible. Possibly 'Morrison's'?
The photograph belonged to Archie Minish, father of the depositor. He worked in a hardware store in Shaunavon, in the town’s early days (prior to 1920).~root~>
