It is a small rectangular block of wood with a carved relief of the letter "O" or the number zero (movable typeface). The pigment has naturally darkened and the relief surface is smooth/glossy as the original coat of varnish is evident. The relief is a combination of brown, light brown and auburn with whispy white lines across surface. The carved down portion is brown with light orange red. The back is marked with dark brown with varying levels of saturation and patches of orange. The thicker areas of pigment are beginning to chip/flake. ~root~>
