it is a rectangular block of wood with a hand carved relief of the letter "Y" (movable typeface). The pigment has naturally darkened with time and use. The relief is a deep burgundy. The carved down potion is matte black and the carving marks/dents are clearly evident. White paint splatter on the relief surface with one small droplet. The back appears to have been part of a larger block due to the hand carved shapes on the back. The reeler surface is a combination of dark brown and dark auburn. The carved down portion is patchily marked with brown pigment. Nail hole on right side.
