It is a rectangular block of wood with a carved relief to the number "1" backwards. The relief appears to be buffed or varnished and carved by machine due to the lack of errors and overall consistency. The relief is coloured with black, red and orange ink. The carved surface is red with black underneath which is only evident due to the extensive chipping and peeling of the red paint. The back is stained black and has raised, curved lines across the surface. ~root~>
