It is a rectangular block of wood with a carved relief of the number "7" backwards. The entire front surface appears to be buffed or varnished and carved by machine due to the lack of errors and overall consistency. The relief is stained with a dull light brown/orange with black smudges and scratches. The carved down portion is stained with black and dark red ink and covered in a layer of dirt. The back also appears to be varnished and is stained with black and dark red ink. It also has a raised horizontal curved lines across the entire surface.
