Block, Wood

Artefact

2018.1.50i
King, Andrew
1912 – 1958
It is a rectangular block of wood with a carved relief of the number "6" backwards. Unlike blocks 2018.1.1-2018.1.40, these blocks appear to be carved by machine rather than hand as it lacks errors and is consistent. The surface is stained with brown/yellow and carved down portion has a layer of dirt. The lack of overall ink stains suggests that this block was not regularly used. The back is lightly marked with black ink.
