Description Golden Furrows - An Historical Chronicle of Swift Current, published in 1954 by the Local Council of Women (Mrs. Bruce Fleming, Pres.), part of Saskatchewan's Golden Jubilee celebration in 1955, format and editorial work by Dave and Alice Belbeck. A general summary of the history of Swift Current prior to 1954, done in commemoration of Saskatchewan's Golden Jubilee. There is information on the history of the name Swift Current and general information on the area before it became a city, some stories of Swift Current area life from the same time span, early history of schools and churches, some general information on Swift Current as it started resembling a city, information on the city's health history, some of the city's known culture in development, and information on the city's goals in 1954 and industrial developments from around that time.
