It is a rectangular wood block with a carved relief of the number "5" backwards. The relief is stained with burgundy ink and the non-relief surface is stained with red and dark blue ink. The relief surface appears to be polished or buffed and in areas the colour and grain of the wood is evident as if buffed or worn off. The old accession number is written on the bottom edge in sharpie and on a sticker. On the back the edges/ sides are stained with red and black ink with smudges and strokes of dark blue, white, black and red ink. Black horizontal and vertical faded lines are also evident.
