*Text Block* wood joined with tongue and groove joints. Front: Rectangular block except for the top and bottom middle rectangle shapes that have been cut out. The front was originally stained dark blue, but now it also has splotches of pink paint stains all over. The first rectangle cut out is in the bottom edge. It is 15.3cm tall and 28.8cm wide, and it is approximately 2.0cm from the right edge and left edge. 2.7cm in from the left side of this cutout begins the 2nd rectangle cutout, which is 4.7cm tall and 10.9cm wide. The 3rd rectangle cutout is in the top edge, and it is 10.2cm tall and 28.5cm wide. This rectangle is 2.0cm from the left and right sides. The majority of the front is recessed with relief lines that border each rectangle cut out. The relief lines around the 2 rectangle cutouts on the bottom are mostly 0.5cm wide except for aa 8.4cm tall 1.5cm wide section on the right and left sides of the first rectangle cut out. The border curves over the 2nd rectangle cut out rather than following the straight edges of the cut out. This curve is 15.2cm wide. The border for the top/third rectangle cut out is 1.6cm wide across the bottom and 1.0cm wide on the sides. The lines on the sides stop 3.5cm from the top edge of the block. There is a relief word that goes in an upward (right to left) diagonal across the middle of the block. The word is "FAIR". There are relief lines connected to the letters that give them the illusion that they are 3D. The letters decrease in size as they go from 10.2cm tall ("F") to 8.4cm tall ("R"). Sides: label on the bottom of the left side with the previous temporary number written on it. There are blue and pink paint marks all over the sides from the front. Back: There is a piece of masking tape right below the bottom edge of the top rectangle cut out with "DAG 318" written on it in red ink. The previous temporary number is written directly on the wood in black permanent marker across the middle. "Blue" is handwritten over the top of the previous temporary number in pencil. There are incisions on the bottom left and right sides 1.5cm from the bottom edges and cutting almost through the block as well as the width. There are 2 incisions at each inside corner of the rectangle cutouts: a horizontal and a vertical. They all cut almost through the thickness of the block. The incisions of the first rectangle cutout are 2.0cm long, except for the vertical one on the right which is 1.7cm long. On the second rectangle cut out the vertical incisions are both 2.0cm long. The horizontal incision on the right is 1.6cm long, and the one on the left is 2.8cm long. On the third rectangle cutout on the top the incisions on the right side are both 2.0cm long. The ones on the left are 1.8cm long.
Wood (basswood or pine)
