2015.1.124a
Block is comprised of three separate pieces. Block i: This block has been broken off of the 2015.1.124a(iii) main piece. The block is almost in the shape of a "P" with a pointy curve. The base is 3.3cm wide for 20cm. The right side then continues on an upward diagonal for 16.3cm. The top of the "P" is where the width measurement comes from (maximum width). Front: Stained dark blue with 3 raised portions. The first begins on the bottom edge of the base and curves up for 12.4cm along the left edge. Its width of its top is 1.8cm and is 3.6cm at its bottom. There is a 2.3cm curve at the corner where the right side extends upward to the top. There is a similar curve in the top right corner of the "P". Side: there is a label on the top side with the previous temporary number written on it. Back: there is a piece of masking tape with "DAG 275" written on it in red ink. The previous number is written in pencil below it. There are incisions in the corners and on the base left edge. Block ii: Negative space- support block (background piece). There are 6 sides to this block. The bottom side is 41cm long. The right side is 4.0cm tall; it then goes upward on a diagonal to the left for 11.0cm. The top side is 32.1cm long; it then goes downward on a diagonal to the left for 16.4cm. The final side is only 1.5cm long, and it is on a steeper diagonal downward angled to the right. Front: stained blue with the colour primarily on the edges. The surface is recessed and chiseled down with a tool with a circular head. Block of negative space would not have been a printable feature (background space). Side: there is a label on the top side with the previous temporary number written on it. Back: there is a piece of masking tape on the top side with "DAG 275" written on it in red ink. The previous temporary number is written in pencil below the piece of tape. Block iii: Main body of the block. Picture Block. Front: wood block stained dark blue. The top half of the block has been cut out except for the right edge (4.5cm wide for 8.5cm and then shrinking to 3.1cm wide until the end) and 10cm of the top right edge 4.1cm wide. There is a 2.0cm long curve along the top edge and one on the right near the top. Moving down the right edge, there is a carving of a clown leaning back against a drum mallet that appears to have rays shooting out of it that are pulling him forward. His head is 8.5cm by 6.0cm and is in the right corner of the bottom portion of the block. He is wearing a pointy party hat 5.6cm wide and 6.4cm tall. His left leg is pointing straight out and is 32.2cm long. There are big cuffs above each of his shoes. His right leg is standing straight, to the bottom edge and is 10.5cm long. His shoe is 19.5cm long and it has a pom pom ball on the top of the shoe. The drum mallet that he is holding is 4.8cm in diameter with 12 rays of different lengths surrounding it. There is a 17.0cm tall duck in the bottom left area of the block. The bottom portion of the block is 29cm tall except for a 14.0cm long area where it shrinks down 5.0cm. This area is 22.8cm from the left side. Side: there is a label on the very top side with the previous temporary number written on it. There are incisions all along the sides on the inside of the block. Back: there is a piece of masking tape with "DAG 275" written in red ink. The previous temporary number is written in pencil right below the piece of tape.
