July 4 1946
A group of five men on a tour of a meat processing plant. The men are wearing white coats and standing by boxes that read "UNRRA Horse Meat and Gravy". Three of the men are Tommy Douglas, R. Burns, Superintendent of Plants, and Government Inspector Dr. Lornis. The image comes from a scrapbook filled with images of the Swift Current Co-operative Horse Packing Plant, a meat processing plant. An Open House was held on July 4, 1946, one year after the plant's opening, and may be when this photo was taken. ~root~>
