Bodice or jacket for a dress. The bodice has a high tapered waist, hooks for fastening, and no collar. The fabric is a brocade with a vine pattern, and grey lining. There is also decorative bunching along the shoulders. Vertical metal strips or boning are sewn into the lining to help the garment hold its shape. The whereabouts of the matching skirt are unknown.
According to the donor, "...belonged to Miss (Dolly) Lines and willed to Keith Esche. A number of items originally belonged to Miss Lines' parents, likely brought from Germany."
