Atlatl Projectile Point (2100 bp)

Atlatl Projectile Point (2100 bp)

Artefact

2100 bp
Grey projectile point with slightly curved edges to the tip. The point is side-notched with a flat base. Given its length and shape, this seems to be an atlatl point rather than a spearpoint or arrowhead. Atlatls or spearthrowers were used to hunt smaller game, and were popular during the Middle Period 7,500 to 2,000 years before present (BP). Looking more at details, the specific shape of the point resembles that of Bracken/Bratton or Besant points from the later Middle Period, around 2,800 to 2,100 years before present (BP).
